´╗┐Victoria dress causes fashion frenzy The fantastic peplum-waisted number, seen here in red, was one of the instantly recognisable Victoria Beckham dress collection which formed part of the opening sequence yesterday at the ISPCC Brown Thomas fashion show. Beautifully tailored and designed for the pencil-thin figure, accessorised with those mega Posh Spice sunglasses, it was easy to see the celebrity's distinctive style shining through. Feminine capes in luxurious felt and silk came in gold and black boucle fabric and will come in handy throughout a season where bare arms are all the rage. Sonia Lennon, the TV stylist, introduced the show and a couple of the models on the catwalk were fresh from the series 'The Model Agent'. Michelle Obama has become another global name in glamour for women who admire her brains as well as her beauty. When she wore a one-shoulder white chiffon gown to her husband's inauguration ball, all eyes were searching for the designer label. It was an unknown name outside the USA and so Jason Wu was discovered overnight. Brown Thomas have also brought his elegant and comfortable collection into the fashion stable this season. Sarah Morrissey took a twirl in a frilled dress with belt and looked the epitome of effortless chic in his silk print tea dress. Figure embalming came from Herve Leger with his ultra body hugging bandage dresses creating an hour-glass illusion on even the fuller frame. The rock chic look was strong in the Balmain section whose navy velvet jewelled jackets were worn over wax jeans in black. Givenchy, synonymous with French perfume, also pulled the rock star image off with aplomb. Gucci is the preferred label of the genuine rock and roller so it was interesting to see the shorter hemlines teamed with thigh-high boots and bare legs. Leopard print is still on the prowl and the Dolce and Gabbana version for 2,650 is available for any remaining Celtic Tigers to purchase. Labels included Chloe, Stella McCartney, YSL and Balenciaga. Gucci also showcased two incredible floor length gowns during the exclusive fashion show worn by Baibe Gaile and Karen Fitzpatrick.
